My love for baking started with banana bread. I went to a lake with some friends and one of them brought banana muffins. And they were absolutely lovely. I asked her for the recipy, which she gladly shared and after I bought some bananas, I went right to work! However, because I didn't have muffin casts, I just used a rectangular cake cast. And that's when I baked my first banana bread!
What I loved most, especially in comparison to cooking, was that baking was just a lot more relaxing and quite frankly easier. The recipe for the banana bread was super simple, I just threw all ingrediants into a bowl, mixed them together and put them in the oven. The whole process took me only a bit over half an hour and most of that was just the time in the oven.
Another great thing about the banana bread was that I could make some for meetup with friends and make them happy that way. Everyone loved it and because it was so fast and easy to make, it wasn't a huge hassle.

I love sourdough so much. Seriously, I could (and often do!) talk about it endlessly. But just in case someone doesn't know what sourdough is, let me start with the basics.
Sourdough is just flour, water and bacteria. That's pretty much it. The bacteria cultivates in the flour/water mix, multiplies and ferments the dough. This has two main benefits. Better taste and better longevity as mold HATES the sour environment. Although the better taste is debatable, I don't know anyone from personal experience that doesn't like sourdough bread and I'd also argue that it's alot better than just plain bread.
